{"id":131,"date":"2018-01-15T14:57:21","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T14:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ethanrbecker.net\/History\/?page_id=131"},"modified":"2018-01-23T00:13:55","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T00:13:55","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.ethanrbecker.net\/History\/history\/","title":{"rendered":"History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is some history about the National Parks.<\/p>\n<p>In 1872, Congress opened Yellowstone National Park as a &#8220;as a public park or pleasuring-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.&#8221;\u00a0 In the beginning, the Secretary of the Interior managed Yellowstone.\u00a0 Then there were more parks with lots of different groups trying to take care of them.\u00a0 The groups did not work as a team, so they couldn&#8217;t plan.\u00a0 On August 25, 1916, President Wilson made the new National Park Service.\u00a0 It was one big group whose job was to maintain all of the National Parks.\u00a0 This was better because they were working together.<\/p>\n<p>The National Park System includes historic places that are important to our country&#8217;s history, scientific places, and valuable natural land.\u00a0 There are National Parks all across the United States of America.\u00a0 To make a new National Park, Congress must decide if the new park should be created.\u00a0 The National Park Service is still trying to make parks and to maintain the parks we already have.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is some history about the National Parks.
